Description
Youto Yokodera is a high school student possessing light brown hair, brown eyes, and an average build, typically clad in his school uniform: a white shirt, red tie, and black pants. His personality is dominated by pervasive perverted thoughts and fantasies about girls, leading to frequent misunderstandings where others perceive him as honorable, creating a frustrating disconnect between his inner motives and outward image. He deeply admires Oscar Wilde's "The Happy Prince," reflecting an ingrained selfless tendency to help others at personal cost, rooted in childhood experiences.

His central conflict erupts after wishing upon the Stony Cat statue to rid himself of his "facade"—his ability to suppress his true thoughts. This results in uncontrollable verbalization of his perverted ideas, earning him the moniker "Pervert Prince." The unintended consequence forces him to collaborate with Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi, who simultaneously lost her emotional expressiveness due to her own wish. Their alliance focuses on retrieving their lost traits, revealing that Youto's "facade" was transferred to Azusa Azuki, a transfer student whose social isolation complicates recovery.

A critical childhood event shapes his background: as a six-year-old, he frequently visited Tsutsukakushi Tsukasa, a nursery teacher estranged from her daughters. During this period, he formed a pure, caring bond with her, viewing her as his "first love." When Tsukasa's daughter Tsukushi expressed longing for maternal memories, Youto sacrificed his own recollections of Tsukasa to the Stony Cat, granting them to Tsukushi. This act initiated a pattern of memory loss, causing him to forget past interactions with girls like Tsukiko, whom he met when she volunteered at the nursery wearing a mask. Their childhood promise to reconnect was erased from his mind.

His relationships evolve intricately. With Tsukiko, their partnership rebuilds their connection, though she grows possessive as other girls enter his life. A later time-travel incident reveals their shared past, and Youto affirms Tsukiko's importance despite not recalling their earliest encounters. With Azusa, his efforts to retrieve his facade involve becoming her "pet," inadvertently helping her reconcile with old friends and sparking her romantic feelings. His bond with Emanuela "Emi" Pollarola begins two years prior to the main story; he supports her through personal struggles, leading to a sibling-like dynamic where she adapts to his stated preferences to appeal to him. Maimaki Mai initially despises him but later confides in him about her social difficulties, resulting in a wish-mediated personality swap that deepens their platonic friendship.

Youto's self-sacrificial nature culminates when Tsukushi falls ill due to a familial curse linked to the Tsutsukakushi lineage. He trades his remaining lifespan to the Stony Cat to save her, triggering repeated time loops after his death. Tsukiko, retaining memories across loops via her notes, desperately attempts to alter his fate. In one loop, Youto recognizes his pattern of self-destruction with Emi's help and reconciles with Tsukiko. They trace the curse's origin to Tsukasa's belief system, rooted in her loneliness and poor health, which manifested in Tsukushi through an unconscious wish. A second time leap cancels both Tsukasa's original wish for family—which had separated Youto from his biological family—and Tsukushi's inherited curse, creating a new timeline.

In this revised timeline, Youto grows distant from Tsukiko and others. However, Tsukiko, retaining all memories, intercepts him at the Stony Cat hill during high school and compels him to read her notes, reviving his lapsed relationships. Initially obsessed with restoring the past exactly, she eventually accepts Youto's guidance to embrace the present. They burn the notes, symbolizing trust that essential memories endure. By the story's conclusion, they establish a committed relationship and live together.
