Yoshinori Kazama, known as Billy of the Winds, is a protagonist in the series. This tall, slender preteen boy has black hair and grayish-blue eyes. He wears a distinctive cowboy-style outfit: a cream white Stetson hat, a short-sleeved ash gray shirt, a tan bolero, a red scarf, blue pants, cream white shoes, and cream white x-shaped belt holsters for his twin B-Damans. In animated versions, the holsters and hat appear light brown.

Kazama possesses a cool-headed and enigmatic personality, often speaking philosophically. He habitually plays with the brim of his Stetson hat using his fingertips.

He joins Team Guts as a new member preparing for competitive tournaments, positioning him as a rival to Gunma Nishibe, establishing a dynamic of competition and mutual challenge.

His primary equipment is the specialized "2 Bomber System" B-Daman setup. This system uses paired units that combine: Blast Eagle and Blast Lion fuse into Blast Griffon. Later iterations include Phantom Eagle and Phantom Lion merging into Phantom Griffon, and Mirage Eagle and Mirage Lion uniting into Mirage Griffon.
