The group journeys on an academic trip, researching local traditions and folklore for an upcoming theater production. Kitano-sempai maintains a scholarly focus during this research expedition, consistently taking notes to document observations about the village's customs and rituals.

This character interacts with fellow college group members during their stay at the Fuzuchi household. Kitano-sempai participates in significant events, including the rare purification festival held every 49 years and related supernatural occurrences involving the shrine's shamanic practices.
