Description
Nozomi Kusaka is a shy, introverted individual with violet chest-length hair and green eyes. Her reserved nature creates distance among fellow Subaru guild members. She harbors deep, initially unnoticed feelings for Takanori Mikado. Following Asahi Kuga's death and the shutdown of Union, she withdraws from gaming to become a magazine model for six years before rejoining the guild upon Re'Union's launch. Her Sense ability, Dream Boundary, manifests imaginary concepts into reality, limited only by her imagination, playing a significant role in her game capabilities.

When informed of Asahi's reappearance in Re'Union by Satsuki Usui and Haruto Amō, she expresses disbelief and refuses participation. After entering the game, she witnesses Takanori dancing with Satsuki and misinterprets it as romantic involvement. This triggers intense emotional distress, leading her to ally with antagonistic evil mages. Her psychological state deteriorates under this influence, resulting in unhinged behavior including cursing Asahi upon confirmation of her existence.

Takanori confronts her alone in Episode 11, clarifying that both he and Satsuki were rejected by their respective love interests and merely comforting each other. Overwhelmed by guilt over her actions and resulting harm, Nozomi undergoes emotional recovery facilitated by Takanori, who apologizes for previously overlooking her feelings and promises future recognition. The resolution culminates in Takanori offering to walk her home, which she accepts with visible pleasure upon recognizing reciprocated affections, signifying reconciliation and mutual acceptance.

Her background includes withdrawal from gaming after Asahi's death and a modeling career. Academically proficient and intelligent, these traits become overshadowed by emotional vulnerability during perceived romantic rejection. Her intense loyalty and protective instincts toward guild members, while acknowledged, contribute to susceptibility to manipulation when emotionally compromised. Her journey illustrates a transition from isolation and misunderstanding to reconciliation and acceptance, particularly with Takanori.
