TV-Series
Description
Asahi Kuga, the main heroine and deuteragonist, has silver hair and blue eyes, consistently displaying a cheerful demeanor marked by a constant smile. Her personality exhibits a childlike innocence stemming from a six-year lag between her physical age and mental maturity, leading to behaviors like casually undressing to dry her clothes in front of Haruto without grasping social implications.
Originally a member of Subaru, a guild formed by elementary school friends within the virtual MMORPG *Union*, Asahi sacrificed her in-game character to protect Haruto from a dungeon boss during a critical mission. This in-game death coincided with real-world heart failure, triggering *Union*'s permanent shutdown. Six years later, she mysteriously reappears within the new game *Re'Union*, discovered asleep in a treasure chest by Haruto. Unaware of her death or the elapsed time, she believes it is still the day of the failed quest six years prior and cannot log out.
Her primary ability, initially "Heart Play" for manipulating emotions and minds, evolves into "Prophet Art." This advanced Sense grants perception of millions of future possibilities, allowing her to select desired outcomes, alter causality, and rewrite past events. A pivotal demonstration occurs when she retroactively changes history: she intercepts Purgatorio's fatal attack meant for Haruto (which would have caused his real-world death), resulting instead in her recorded death and Haruto surviving in a coma. This reality-warping power also enables her to bestow future perception upon allies during combat. In gameplay, she operates as a rear guard wielding dual pistols, employing techniques like "Wendy Bullet" and "Link Bullet."
Her relationships center significantly on Haruto Amō. They share a close bond with romantic undertones, exchanging guild rings and swearing mutual protection before her initial death. After her reappearance, they adventure together to craft a new ring, reinforcing their connection. This closeness provokes jealousy in guild member Satsuki Usui, who confronts Asahi and criticizes Haruto's changed personality, causing temporary conflict. Subaru's sub-leader, Takanori Mikado, harbors unreciprocated feelings for her. Upon her return, Asahi actively seeks to reunite the scattered Subaru members, driving the central plot to uncover the truth behind her existence. Her reappearance also attracts antagonistic forces, including the elite Southern Cross guild, which pursues her for unspecified purposes.
