Description
Shizune Seo is a timid and introverted student at Reien Girl's Academy, rooming with Azaka Kokutou. Her withdrawn nature is shaped by a unique ability: mystic eyes that allow her to see up to three days into the future, with occasional flashes of events further ahead. She comes from a family that runs a wine cellar and owns a collie named Akira, with whom she shares a passionate but unspecified hobby.
Shizune uses her foresight to achieve top academic marks by anticipating exam answers, but the ability torments her. She has witnessed numerous tragedies before they occur, including the death of her own dog—first in a vision, then in reality—leading her to believe the future is absolute and her power a curse.
Her perspective shifts after an encounter with Mikiya Kokutou, prior to her rooming with Azaka and before Shiki Ryougi becomes involved in Kirie Fujou’s case. When Shizune foresees the death of a construction worker, Mikiya intervenes and alters the outcome—the first time one of her visions is ever changed. This prompts her to confide in him, and Mikiya advises her to reconsider how she views both herself and her ability. As a result, Shizune develops a slight attraction toward him.
Upon meeting Shiki Ryougi, Shizune immediately intuits she cannot compete for Mikiya’s attention. Using her power, she also glimpses that Shiki will cause Mikiya’s death and warns him, though without malice. Mikiya accepts this fate for Shiki’s sake, and Shizune respects his choice.
When Shizune first meets Azaka and shakes her hand, she foresees they will become eternal friends. She initially assumes Azaka’s shared surname with Mikiya is coincidence. After a school break, Shizune thanks Azaka for resolving a case—having foreseen her success without knowing the details.
Later, Shizune joins other Reien students—including Azaka, Fujino Asagami, and Misaya Ouji—in a surreal shared dream triggered by a magical artifact. The experience involves a zombie apocalypse and a murder mystery within a strange building, eventually resolved when Shiki Ryougi severs the dream’s source.
Through these events, Shizune evolves from a fatalistic outlook to a more hopeful stance, influenced significantly by Mikiya. Her friendship with Azaka and unrequited feelings for Mikiya remain central to her journey.
