OVA
Description
Koji Kawamata, a director at the protagonist’s company, colludes with Ryuichi Murakami in embezzlement schemes, exploiting Murakami’s manipulation of accounting clerk Keiko Yamamoto to conceal illicit transactions. When Yamamoto’s death is declared a suicide, Kawamata’s role in the financial crimes and subsequent cover-up draws intense suspicion.

His corruption escalates when he orchestrates the assassination of Hiroshi Yamanobe, a fellow director transferred to South America, by bankrolling guerrilla forces to eliminate his rival—a move fueled by resentment after Yamanobe supplanted him in a prestigious position. Publicly masquerading as Yamanobe’s loyal confidant, Kawamata’s vindictive nature is ultimately exposed during a supernatural tribunal.

Targeted by the Judge of Darkness, Kawamata enlists a metaphysical defense attorney who furnishes him with a warding talisman and contests the charges in an otherworldly court. The trial unravels when the Mirror of Enma projects Kawamata’s concealed malice, irrefutably proving his crimes. His reflection manifests as an avenging force, culminating in his death by violent strangulation.

Kawamata’s narrative arc solidifies him as an unscrupulous executive consumed by ambition, deploying deceit and violence to safeguard his status. No expanded backstory or development exists beyond his portrayal in the original OVA.
