Red Dog, also known as Akainu, is a crimson Shisa dog serving alongside his counterpart Kiinu (Yellow Dog) under the command of Karasu Tengu, an antagonist dedicated to plundering beauty across dimensions. As Karasu Tengu’s primary enforcers, the duo relentlessly pursues protagonists Sakura and Shizuku, initiating their chase through Sakuragahara’s cherry blossom forests to seize the pair.

Akainu and Kiinu operate with boisterous, confrontational energy, punctuating battles with grandiose monologues. Their most formidable trait lies in merging into Ooinu, a towering purple Shisa entity whose amplified power amplifies their chaos. Despite Ooinu’s heightened threat, the fusion retains their bombastic banter and comedic unpredictability, exemplified by their shock when Ooinu unexpectedly gains speech mid-combat.

The pair harasses Pretty Cure teams across realms, from Ichigozaka to the Magical World, deploying Yokubaru and Zetsuborg monsters to sow discord. Though fiercely loyal to Karasu Tengu, their efforts frequently falter due to tactical blunders or bewildered reactions to shifting battle dynamics. Their arc culminates when the Pretty Cure’s triumph over Karasu Tengu shatters their power, reducing Akainu and Kiinu to inert origami forms.
