Description
Clarinette manifests as a sentient musical instrument—a sleek black clarinet adorned with gold keys—possessing a cunning, manipulative nature. It feeds on humanity’s forgetfulness toward inanimate objects, leveraging this neglect to fuel its survival. Preferring subterfuge over direct conflict, it manipulates others from the shadows to advance its agenda.

Once an ordinary instrument played by Marsh, Clarinette evolved a human-like consciousness and twisted its owner into performing acts of destruction. Marsh, later revealed as a past incarnation of Mana’s loyal dog Mallow, ultimately rebels against Clarinette’s control. In retaliation, the enraged entity disrupts timelines to eradicate the protagonists’ hopes through temporal interference.

During their climactic battle, Clarinette withstands ordinary assaults and mortally wounds Mallow, triggering the latter’s psychic sacrifice. This act unlocks Mana’s Engage Mode—a heightened power state countering Clarinette’s time manipulation and immunity to standard purification. Victory hinges on repairing distorted memories and safeguarding hope, reversing Clarinette’s chronological sabotage. Its existence remains tethered to collective memory, underscoring its thematic ties to legacy and the fragility of remembrance.
