Description
Golan Dagam, nicknamed "Thunderclap" or the "Thunderclap Warrior," rose from a lowly caste and bandit origins. Born in late 2156 or 2157, he nevertheless gained Emperor Zworder's favor, securing appointments as Grand Chief Commissioner of the Small Magellanic Cloud, commander of the Gutaba Expedition Group, and Governor General of the contested Gutaba Area. His primary mission was locating the Archelian ark Shambleau, known to Gatlanteans as the "World of Tranquillity," commanding from the flagship *Megaruda*.

Standing 2.2 meters tall with a beast-inflicted wound over his right eye, Dagam defied typical Gatlantean emotional suppression. He exhibited overt boastfulness, violence, and intense rage, especially after failure or reprimand. His speech was theatrical, vocalizing emotions directly with exclamations like "I laugh!" or "I'm seething with rage!" He harbored specific animosity toward Chancellor Sifar Saberah. While professing a warrior's honor code that valorized battle and scorned retreat, Dagam readily abandoned these principles for personal gain, such as leaving battlefronts for self-serving objectives.

He demonstrated minimal regard for subordinates, exemplified by destroying one of his own ships without hesitation for obstructing *Megaruda*'s line of fire. This tyranny fostered resentment, notably from Captain Bodom Mace, who conspired with Saberah to depose him; Dagam later killed Mace for this betrayal. His leadership prioritized ruthless personal advancement over loyalty to his forces or the Gatlantis Empire.

In August 2199, Dagam expanded operations into the Large Magellanic Cloud. His forces destroyed remnants of the Zoellik Faction near the Great Magellanic Cloud, then intercepted the Earth vessel *Yamato* returning from Iscandar. Frustrated by his failure to find Shambleau and leveraging leaked Garmillas intelligence, Dagam redirected his mission to capture *Yamato*. He initiated hostilities at Kappadokia, demanding surrender and deploying *Megaruda*'s Flame Strike Gun. When *Yamato* retreated into Kappadokia’s atmosphere, both forces faced indigenous Medulas attacks. *Yamato* escaped via emergency warp, but Dagam’s fleet suffered destruction.

Chancellor Saberah admonished Dagam for failing to locate Shambleau and dismissed his proposal to capture *Yamato*, emphasizing the Emperor’s exclusive interest in the ark, issuing an ultimatum: succeed or face execution. Defying Saberah, Dagam pursued *Yamato* by tracing its warp signature. This pursuit inadvertently led him to Shambleau, as the emergency warp had deposited *Yamato* near the ark. Dagam reported this discovery but ignored Saberah's directives to avoid engaging *Yamato* and allied Garmillan forces to protect Shambleau. Enraged, he destroyed *Megaruda*'s communication device and ordered an attack.

An airstrike disabled *Megaruda*'s Flame Strike Gun during the battle. Against Captain Isla "Gale" Paracas's counsel, Dagam ordered his flagship to withdraw from the frontline to seize the ark’s core personally. This decision allowed *Yamato* to engage *Megaruda* directly in close combat. The confrontation culminated in *Megaruda*'s destruction and Dagam’s death, annihilating the Gutaba Expedition Group; only *Yamato* and the Garmillan carrier *Lamvea* remained operational.

Emperor Zworder and the Gatlantis court reviewed Dagam's demise and the loss of his fleet in late 2202, influencing their strategic decision to attack Earth.
