Description
Michael Elliott, known as Number Two in the Numbers Elite organization, is an eccentric American game designer. He co-created the Battle Spirits battle system with Kiano Sawaragi. Elliott first surprised fellow Numbers members by appearing unexpectedly during a tournament. He displayed dramatic reactions, such as congratulating J Sawaragi despite J's loss, attributing the result to new cards Elliott had provided. Elliott expressed interest in recruiting J for study abroad.

On Battle Spirits TV, Elliott introduced the Booster Draft battle format, where players build decks from unopened card packs on the spot. He also announced plans to establish Battle Spirits University in America. A subsequent Booster Draft tag tournament offered winners invitations. Elliott reacted with visible shock when J and Striker declined enrollment offers. Despite this venture, he accepted a position as principal at J's middle school, working alongside the school's new chairman, Kiano Sawaragi. This collaboration strained J's relationship with his father, leading J to challenge Elliott in battle; Elliott lost the match.

When J planned to join Thousand Spirits Group, Elliott supported the decision, understanding it conflicted with Kiano's wishes. This further angered J when Elliott later publicly sided with Kiano. During another tournament, Elliott discovered Number Eight had joined Bashin's team and confronted her about potential betrayal. She clarified her motives were personal. Striker later found Elliott's letter to Number Eight and challenged him to a battle. After losing to Striker, who explained his personal connection to Battle Spirits, Elliott revealed the relationship between Number Eight and Masako. This defeat prompted Elliott to withdraw from the tournament's final round, reflecting that the era belonged to Bashin's generation. He subsequently resigned from Thousand Spirits Group.

Learning of Number Nine's dangerous ambitions to exploit battle spirits and endanger children, Elliott and Kiano attempted intervention. Number Nine captured them after a battle where Elliott emphasized Battle Spirits' core purpose as "communication with your opponent's heart." Before capture, Elliott left behind newly developed cards for the younger battlers. During the King Uchuuchouten Cup, Elliott and most Numbers members fell under Number Nine's brainwashing until freed by J, Hayami, and the pets. In the epilogue, Elliott returned to his American university, accompanied by Number Nine to assist, while J decided to attend.

In battles, Elliott employed varied strategies without favoring a specific color. His documented cards included spirits like The IceBeast Mam-Morl (white), The SevenShogun Pandemium (purple), and Skulldemon (purple), alongside magic cards such as Soul Crash (purple) and nexuses like The Historic Battlefield of the Cursed (purple). His battle record showed consistent losses against J, Bashin, Meganeko, Striker, and Number Nine.

The manga portrayed Elliott as the "peacekeeper" of Numbers Elite. Discovering the organization's true malicious objectives, he felt betrayed and assisted Bashin's group in opposing Smile.

Elliott maintained an affable yet quirky demeanor, often incorporating English phrases. His actions prioritized advancing Battle Spirits' gameplay and mentoring new generations, culminating in his departure from antagonistic forces to support youth development through education.
