Description
Doctor Gara is a central antagonist in the early arc of Future Card Buddyfight Triple D, a scientist notorious for controversial artificial monster research and a top wanted criminal by the Buddy Police. His work creating powerful artificial monsters directly opposes Kyoya Gaen's goals.

Operating under the alias Kakeru Futaboshi, Gara uses mimicry and gene-altering candies to infiltrate the World Buddy Cup Japan Tournament undetected. His true form features dark and light green spiked hair resembling horns, futuristic black-and-silver battle armor with purple accents, and a split cape. As Kakeru, he disguises himself in a white lab coat over dark clothing, with brown highlights and a clipped black tie, appearing unassuming.

His artificial buddy monster is Star Deity Dragon, Zodiac, which lacks a heart or life force due to its synthetic nature. Gara begins his activities on Cho-Taiyou Island, commandeering a hidden laboratory and blackmailing Kyoya Gaen into providing refuge by threatening to expose Kyoya's illicit monster projects. He later targets Bal for his emerging powers, orchestrating multiple kidnappings. One attempt leads to a confrontation with Tasuku Ryuenji, revealing Zodiac's artificial origin.

Posing as Kakeru, he initially gains the protagonists' trust by aiding Ozon-B after an accident and treating Bal's cold. He challenges Gao Mikado to a Buddyfight on the UFO Stage, using Zodiac's abilities and strategic card effects like "Gravity Rest" to win. Subtle actions, such as retrieving a compress used on Bal, hint at his dual identity. He later kidnaps Bal while reverting to Gara, confirming the connection between his personas.

His tournament record includes an interrupted fight against Tasuku (as Gara), a win against Gao (as Kakeru), and subsequent losses to Gao in both personas during episodes 25 and 27. His final recorded defeat occurs against Tasuku in episode 44.

Gara exemplifies manipulation through science and deception, driven by objectives tied to artificial monster experimentation and exploiting tournament access for his schemes.
