Himi Amanokawa lives in the Amanogawa household within the Shichifukujin neighborhood. She is the younger sibling of Yamato Amanokawa, with Mikoto Amanokawa also residing there. Five Engimon share the children's room: Haruo the papier-mâché dog, Kin-chan the goldfish paper balloon, Hebikura the bamboo snake, Chief Daruma the daruma doll, and Koume the Kokeshi doll. These Engimon constantly watch over Himi and Yamato.

Himi's story centers on the arrival of a mysterious Engimon resembling a beckoning cat (Maneki-neko). Drawn to this strange visitor, Himi follows it and vanishes from the house. Her disappearance shocks Yamato and triggers the household Engimon into action; they begin to move and speak. Joining forces with Yamato, the Engimon set out to find and rescue Himi. Their quest concludes when the Engimon employ their distinct capabilities to ensure Himi's safe return.
