Description
Abigail, alias Abby, operates as the illegal magical girl "Pick Scissors" or "Big Scissors" within the terrorist group Babel Brigade. Her origins trace to Forest Gate, England, where severe childhood trauma occurred when her parents died by friendly fire during the Disas Crisis. Denied support or compensation, she fostered deep government resentment and emotional instability. This culminated in her murdering three people and demanding her parents' return as compensation, highlighting grief-stunted development.

Following her arrest, the enigmatic Babel Brigade leader, the Brigadier or "Queen," rescued her. The Brigadier validated Abigail's suffering, offering her a place despite being unable to restore her parents. This forged Abigail's absolute loyalty; she addresses the Brigadier as "My Queen," obeying without question and suppressing violent urges on command. Their relationship extends into a romantic dynamic, marked by Abigail's intense devotion, including blushing when held.

Abigail exhibits extreme sadism, spitefulness, and bloodlust, amplified by her trauma. She derives pleasure from torturing victims physically, emotionally, and mentally, evidenced by videotaping Nozomi Makino's torture and issuing subtle threats. However, she exercises restraint when necessary, leaving Makino critically injured to lure targets or capturing War Nurse Kurumi per orders. Her instability surfaces when provoked, such as vowing to kill Asuka after losing fingers.

Tactically cunning, she posed as a secretary to a wealthy man, facilitated his murder to commandeer resources for Babel, and orchestrated traps using hostages to manipulate adversaries like Asuka and Kurumi. Her intelligence is further shown through organizational skills and inflicting precise, calculated injuries.

As a magical girl, she wields oversized scissors as dual blades, employing psychological terror via dismemberment. Her powers include a reactive multilayered plasma shield capable of withstanding heavy conventional weaponry, magical perception blocking that obscures her identity from non-magical observers, and enhanced physical capabilities. She demonstrates close combat proficiency, defeating Kurumi effortlessly and briefly holding her own against a magically-doped Kurumi. Her durability allows enduring significant attacks.

Her conflicts center on antagonizing Asuka's allies. She kidnapped and tortured Nozomi Makino to provoke Asuka and Kurumi, leading to a confrontation where Asuka severed Abigail's fingers, fueling her vendetta. Later, under orders, she battled War Nurse Kurumi, dominating her until Asuka intervened. Despite her antagonist role, Abigail survives the entirety of the manga, distinguishing her as one of Babel Brigade's few long-term members alongside Varvara.

Her character design varies: the manga depicts a petite frame, while the anime emphasizes a buxom physique consistent with its adaptation of other magical girls.
