Viceard Balbacil commands the Valdland army in a surprise assault on Fiel during Princess Elfina's wedding to Prince Kwan. His forces target both the wedding party and Firan castle, achieving victory. Prince Kwan sustains severe injuries, while Elfina and other Firan women face forced subjugation under Viceard's rule.

Viceard's control is interrupted by Marna, his former romantic partner who became his stepmother. She reveals his father's plot to frame and execute him. Marna's presence tempers Viceard's conduct, unexpectedly revealing a less severe side to Elfina. Concurrently, external threats emerge: the impending arrival of the king and Kwan's escape jeopardize Valdland's occupation of Fiel.
