Prince Komaro, known as Principe Sabado in the Italian localization, is the younger brother of Princess Mirenjo and the fourth member of her antagonist group. He represents a rival royal house determined to conquer the Nandahla Kingdom, also called the Kingdom of Fir, after the king's demise. Komaro stands as a potential heir to this throne, but his claim rests entirely on securing the mystic Firebird, the Jujaku phoenix, before Princess Karen's faction can obtain it. This succession rule fuels his engagement in the series' central conflict.

Komaro works alongside his sister and their two minions, Julie Kokematsu and Alan Sukadon, chasing the elusive Firebird across time and space. The Firebird conceals itself as legendary artifacts throughout history, compelling the group to pursue it across various eras, including the year 1981. Their relentless pursuit is consistently challenged by Princess Karen, her allies drawn from the past, and her guard-robot Daigoron.
