TV-Series
Description
Keiichirou Miyanoshita, sometimes called Ben in dubs, is the younger brother of Satsuki Miyanoshita and the group's youngest member. Born in 1994, he is six years old when the series begins, attending Amanogawa Elementary School as a first-grader in Class 2. He has fair skin, short purple-gray hair, and brown eyes, resembling his father. He is typically seen in a light blue long-sleeved shirt featuring an orange/red rectangle and the letter "K", slate-gray shorts, and yellow calf-high boots. His sleepwear consists of black-and-white spotted cow pajamas.

Shy, sweet, and profoundly lonely after his mother's death, Keiichirou clings to his sister Satsuki and his father, though their family struggles with the loss. Easily frightened and often crying, others label him a "crybaby". He harbors intense anxiety about losing more family, especially when Satsuki or his father faces supernatural danger. Despite his naïveté, immaturity, and occasional clumsiness, he experiences emotional growth, ultimately accepting his mother's passing.

The English ADV dub portrays him differently, implying mental disabilities. He speaks gibberish or nonsensically and faces derogatory language. The dub suggests dyslexia, showing him misreading the Ghost Diary by reversing words. His behavior includes random emotional outbursts like sudden laughter, crying, or squealing. Controversial dub lines involve him referencing the Special Olympics, killing multiple pets, or making inappropriate sexual remarks.

He forms a close bond with Amanojaku, the spirit possessing the family cat Kaya. While others call the possessed cat Amanojaku, Keiichirou persists with "Kaya", fostering a unique friendship. He also befriends Hajime Aoyama and Leo Kakinoki, seeing them as older brothers, and enjoys playing with Momoko Koigakubo. Unintentionally, he disarms spirits like Datto and Amanojaku through his innocence, forming unexpected connections.

His background is defined by the death of his mother, Kayako Miyanoshita, when he was very young. This fuels his emotional vulnerability and deep reliance on Satsuki, who helps raise him and manage the household. Throughout the series, he confronts his fears and grief, gradually maturing as he supports friends and family against supernatural threats.
