Description
Genetically modified by Hydra, Adi was conditioned to view the organization as heroic trainers and the Avengers as villains. His modifications granted technopathic abilities, dubbed "Technical Act," enabling mental manipulation and control of any technology, including advanced systems like Iron Man's Hulkbuster armor. These skills proved invaluable for Hydra missions before his defection.

Initial field missions exposed Hydra's true malevolence, triggering profound regret over his forced actions. This spurred a joint escape attempt with fellow trainees Makoto and Chloe. While Makoto reached the Avengers, Adi and Chloe were captured and imprisoned. During confinement, they learned their former comrade Bruno had knowingly aligned with Red Skull. An Avengers assault on the base, aided by Makoto, liberated Adi amidst its destruction.

Rescued, Adi grappled with guilt over his Hydra-enforced past, doubting his moral worthiness. Discovering Tony Stark's history as a weapons manufacturer intensified this conflict. During Ezekiel Stane's attack, Adi attempted to hack Stark's systems for information, leading to a confrontation. Stark acknowledged past mistakes but asserted they should not define one's future, emphasizing that learning from errors sets heroes apart. This spurred Adi's acceptance of redemption.

As the oldest and most mature member of the Future Avengers, Adi adopted a protective, responsible role towards Makoto and Chloe, often tempering Makoto's impulsiveness. His technopathy evolved into a key strategic asset, enabling tactical advantages during missions countering Ares' attack on Avengers Tower and assisting against Enchantress's incursion in K'un-L'un. He maintained a calm demeanor, though his discomfort with deception made him an unconvincing actor during undercover operations.

Later developments included exposure to Terrigen Mist during the Inhuman crisis, though his existing powers remained unchanged. He reconciled with Bruno after the latter defected from the Masters of Evil, reinforcing their familial bond within the team. His compassion was highlighted through caring for a stray cat encased in high-tech armor alongside Hawkeye, uncovering the Inventor's plot to weaponize pets.

Adi's identity as Codec solidified through ongoing mentorship under established Avengers, particularly Iron Man and Hawkeye. His technopathic abilities remained critical in countering technologically based threats, including Hydra's Emerald Rain Project and conflicts involving Kang the Conqueror and Maximus. His journey centered on continuous atonement, leveraging his skills unequivocally for heroism.
