Description
Jake Vallory, a 15-year-old human Subterra Brawler, forms an immediate bond with Dan Kuso after Dan’s move to Bayview. Partnered with Coredem—a synthetic Bakugan lacking speech, later replaced by its living counterpart—he leverages his football-honed strength and headstrong bravery, often charging into battles with more grit than planning. His unwavering admiration for Dan earns him nicknames like “Dan the Man” or “Aniki,” a mix of reverence and good-natured ribbing.

Joining Bakugan Interspace marks his entry into competitive brawling, though Coredem’s initial silence frustrates him. Training under Julie Makimoto, a seasoned Subterra veteran, he forges a distinct battling style, rebounding from early losses to defeat rivals like Mason Brown. Mastery of the Rock Hammer Battle Gear propels him into pivotal roles, including clashes against Gundalian operatives: partnering with Marucho against Airzel and Mason, then Fabia Sheen against Ren and Jesse Glenn.

Kazarina of the Twelve Orders hijacks his loyalty through brainwashing, weaponizing him against the Battle Brawlers. Tasked with corrupting Neathia’s shield system via a virus, he nearly overpowers Dan and Shun using a power-amplifying Ability Card before being subdued. Kazarina’s death breaks her hold, freeing him to redeem himself in the final offensive against Emperor Barodius and Phantom Dharak.

Post-war, Jake steps back from active brawling during Mechtanium Surge, glimpsed only in a commemorative photo. His partnership with Coredem concludes with an emotional parting, orchestrated by Linehalt’s energy to honor their unbreakable bond.

His arc traces a hotheaded novice’s evolution into a tested warrior confronting external control and moral ambiguity. Design parallels include Baron’s muscular build and inexperience, while his dynamic with Dan echoes Yu-Gi-Oh! GX’s Tyranno Hassleberry in both aesthetic and protagonist-focused admiration.
