TV-Series
Description
Daraku, also known as Dharaknoid, is a four-legged dragon-like Bakugan and the direct descendant of the Original Dharaknoid, one of two original Bakugan created by Code Eve. He serves as the fierce and loyal Guardian Bakugan to Emperor Barodius, ruler of Gundalia, unwavering in his dedication to the Twelve Orders' cause. His ancient lineage, tracing back to the same powerful biological template as Drago, grants him formidable power.
Initially appearing in a war transmission during the *New Vestroia* finale, Daraku is later deployed in Gundalia's invasion of Neathia. He engages in large-scale battles against Neathian forces, wielding his Battle Gear AirKor with devastating impact. Merging with the Exokor armor transforms him into the colossal Daraku Colossus, enabling him to shatter Neathia's Second Security Shield using abilities like Darkness Waver. His bitter rivalry with Drago ignites after their first encounter, where he scorns Drago as a "worthless lizard," reflecting past conflicts but remaining irredeemable due to his absolute loyalty to Barodius.
Daraku's personality mirrors his master's devious and calculating nature, prone to violent outbursts. He demonstrates tactical awareness, noting the efficiency of Gundalia's human brawlers and expressing concern over Drago's growing strength. His ruthlessness extends to internal conflicts, battling Sabator to assert dominance and attacking Sid Arkale for desertion, indirectly causing Sid's fatal fall. He later confronts the defector Ren Krawler and Linehalt, resulting in a stalemate broken by Dragonoid Colossus.
After suffering defeat against Drago, Kazarina fuses Drago's DNA with Daraku, triggering his evolution into Phantom Daraku. Despite this enhanced power, he falls to Drago once more. In a final act of defiance, he and Barodius attempt to seize the Sacred Orb's power. This act results in their imprisonment within a separate dimension by Code Eve, where they mutate into Razenoid and Mag Mel, respectively, forms in which they return the following season.
Daraku's combat abilities include projecting dark energy blasts from his mouth and employing cards such as Thunder Probe, Evil Blast, and Westwall Shield to nullify opponents. His ball form features a metal cylinder for Battle Gear compatibility. His physical toy variations span multiple attributes with G-Powers ranging from 520 Gs (Darkus, Japan) to 870 Gs (Ventus BakuBlue), including unique releases like Crimson Pearl Pyrus (770 Gs), translucent Darkus (720 Gs), and "Evil Twin" Haos (690 Gs). A planned Baku Sky Raider redesign was never released.
His name derives from the Japanese word "daraku" (堕落), meaning corruption, reflecting his destructive allegiance to Barodius.
