Seiryu is one of four minor goddesses opposing the evil goddess Douma, specifically embodying the dragon deity. She engages directly in battle against Douma's forces, wielding a divine whip with physical prowess. This includes assisting the priestess Seimei by striking a spider demon to hamstring it.

Her mission to confront Douma leads Seiryu and Genbu, the turtle goddess, to infiltrate Douma's Heaven Tower. Demonic forces ambush and capture them there. During imprisonment, Seiryu endures paralysis, violation, and psychological torment by demons. This corruption rapidly erodes her sanity and will to resist, culminating in her complete mental collapse as despair overcomes her upon acknowledging failure to protect Seimei and Miyamoto.
