Description
Pollun holds the title of Prince of the Garden of Light. He first appears after the restoration of the Prism Stones, dispatched to Earth upon signs of the Evil King’s resurgence. Like Mepple and Mipple, he arrives with physical force, colliding with Nagisa Misumi. The Queen tasks him with mysteriously supporting Pretty Cure through his unique capabilities.
When Wisdom endangers itself, Wisdom embeds the Prism Stones into Pollun. This grants him a stable physical form and opens communication with the Garden of Light. Functioning as the Pretty Commune, his shape shifts into a miniature computer, allowing group conversations audible to all linked participants. He gains fragmented precognition, uttering cryptic prophecies for Pretty Cure to decipher. As Prince, he bestows the Rainbow Bracelets, enabling Pretty Cure’s Rainbow Storm attack. During the final clash with the Evil King, Pollun expends all energy to recharge the bracelets, entering dormancy until the following school year.
Later, Pollun resides chiefly with Kujou Hikari, seeking her out independently. Their profound bond triggers her transformation into Shiny Luminous. His evolved Touch Commune form replaces the Pretty Commune, acting as Hikari’s transformation device. He also enables Lulun to summon Shiny Luminous’s Heartiel Brooch. Pollun grows concerned about Hikari’s unwavering politeness, interpreting her lack of reprimands as emotional distance; he theorizes conflict signifies deeper care.
Physically, Pollun resembles a small white creature blending canine and murine traits, adorned with mint-green accents and a furry neck. A computer mouse-like orb tips his tail, while heart-shaped markings grace his ears and eye areas. His forehead bears a heart-diamond emblem, and he wears a tiny golden crown. Despite royalty, he displays youthful immaturity: energetic, playful, and occasionally bratty. His antics often annoy Nagisa and Mepple during cohabitation, with Mepple growing jealous over disrupted dynamics with Mipple. Pollun matures over time, showing increased selflessness and impulsively aiding Pretty Cure in battles.
His speech consistently ends with "~popo." He habitually mispronounces "Pretty Cure" as "Purikura," a trait shared with Lulun, used within their series to correct children’s pronunciation. Relationships shape him deeply: Lulun treats him as an older brother, evoking annoyance and underlying protectiveness; initial friction with Nagisa evolves into friendship; Mepple mentors him, explaining concepts like Christmas. Pollun and Lulun are the franchise’s first sibling mascots.
