Suzuko Yamazaki is a history teacher and yoga instructor at Rinin High School. She has a pale complexion, violet eyes, and violet or dark pink hair that is often cut short or tied in a ponytail. She has a curvaceous figure with large breasts and is usually seen wearing glasses, a blouse, a skirt, and high heels, sometimes with makeup or body piercings.

Born in Rinin Village, a place steeped in superstitious traditions, her origin was the result of a ritual by the Rinkan Club. Her mother, designated as a shrine maiden, participated in sexual ceremonies, and her father was an anonymous club member. As a child, Suzuko witnessed her mother being raped during these rituals, an event that contributed to her mother’s deteriorating health and eventual death in some accounts.

She left the village for Tokyo to attend university and later taught at a private school there. After eight years, she returned to Rinin Village both to care for her ailing mother and to dismantle the Rinkan Club, which she deeply hated due to her traumatic past.

Back in the village, she began teaching at the high school and sought evidence to expose the club. Cautious, confident, serious, and sophisticated, she maintained a direct and determined approach, cultivating a professional friendship with fellow teacher Toshio Katsuragi. She was willing to risk her safety and dignity to achieve her goals.

Her opposition made her a target. Club members captured, raped, and humiliated her, including forcing her to teach while wearing a dildo. These experiences changed her profoundly.

During this struggle, she discovered that Tamura Motoko, the student leader of the Rinkan Club, was her half-sister, sharing the same father. Using a club rule that allowed family members to nominate shrine maidens, she orchestrated a coup. Gathering support from other members behind Motoko’s back, she forced Motoko to publicly resign, then nominated her as a permanent shrine maiden—a role involving lifelong sexual servitude.

Suzuko transformed from a vengeful victim into the new leader of the Rinkan Club. After assuming control, she condemned not only Motoko but also Aiko Katsuragi, Maki Katsuragi, and Shiori Nakamura to permanent shrine maiden roles, decreeing that their female descendants would inherit the position. She claimed the women would eventually come to enjoy their roles after being mentally broken by the rituals.

Background details vary across media. In the original visual novel, her mother remains alive and she has no husband. In the OVA adaptation, her mother dies and she has a husband in Tokyo; this version also shows her as the first to discover the familial link to Motoko.
