Mutabrid, one of the Nonet Bakugan, begins imprisoned in the Doom Dimension. His alien-shaped body stretches outward for long-distance attacks. Freed by Wiseman in exchange for aiding Mechtogan revival and revenge against Drago, Mutabrid accepts primarily to escape confinement. Aligned with Wiseman, he repeatedly battles the Battle Brawlers, maintaining a rivalry with Jaakor. He taunts Jaakor while leveraging tactical advantages like stolen Battle Suits. Mutabrid employs abilities such as "Imprison" to inflict headaches or confinement, "Sneaking Aggressor" for invisibility tactics, and "Death Stall" to nullify opponent abilities.
He combines with fellow Nonets Betadron and Kodokor to form Gliderak, utilizing defensive ability "Sky Panzer" during fusion. This form engages in major battles against adversaries like Fusion Dragonoid and Reptak. Mutabrid enhances combat effectiveness using stolen Battle Suits: piloting Fortatron against Jaakor and Clawbruk against Aeroblitz. These augment his offense but fail to secure lasting victories.
Mutabrid participates in summoning evil Mechtogan, especially Mechtavius Destroyer, alongside other Nonets. After Wiseman betrays and traps the Nonets in a cave leading back to the Doom Dimension, Mutabrid escapes and allies with Gunz Lazar against Mechtavius Destroyer. During their final battle, his attempt to combine with Betadron and Kodokor is interrupted by Mechtavius Destroyer's lasers, critically injuring him. Unable to revert to ball form, Mutabrid is killed and absorbed by Mechtavius Destroyer, resulting in permanent disintegration. His death mirrors Nova Lion's, suggesting Bakugan perish if unable to return to ball form after severe damage.
In the physical game, Mutabrid's ball form lacks anime-accurate features like double-jointed feet and hand structures on wings. His G-power varies: Aquos (930 Gs), Haos (940 Gs), Pyrus (960 Gs), Subterra (830 Gs), Ventus (920 Gs), with the BakuEclipse variant at 1000 Gs. Trivia notes include physical similarities to Glotronoid, an "extra head" in ball form hinting at a concealed face, extended "Imprison" animation in certain regional anime versions, and his persistent rivalry with Jaakor throughout appearances.
