Description
Julius Monrey, the Guardian of Time in Wonderland, oversees the delicate task of mending sentient clocks that serve as the literal hearts of its inhabitants. By restoring these mechanisms, he enables the rebirth of the deceased, though their identities may shift unpredictably—a duty that has anointed him Wonderland’s unofficial mortician. Bound to neutrality, he operates from the Clock Tower Plaza, a sanctuary untouched by the Country of Hearts’ factional wars.

Tall and imposing, Julius sports long dark-blue hair swept into a ponytail, piercing blue eyes, and a signature wardrobe: a long black coat adorned with intricate gold-bronze patterns, a clock-themed tie, a solitary timepiece earring, and glasses worn during meticulous repairs. His ever-present wrench doubles as both tool and symbol of his craft. Aloof and introverted, he shuns social engagements, retreating into solitude and relentless work. Yet glimpses of warmth surface around Alice Liddell, whom he shelters in the Clock Tower. Their pragmatic alliance sees Alice gather clock components and brew coffee, which he meticulously rates on a strict 100-point scale.

Once a purposeless roleholder like Ace, Julius gained immortality as a "living dead" after Ace and Joker’s bargain resurrected him, shackling him eternally to dual roles as Clockmaker and Executioner. He begrudgingly partners with Ace, who fetches broken clocks and insists on their friendship—a claim Julius deflects with sarcasm, though subtle mentorship colors their exchanges.

His interactions with others are fraught with tension: respect for Mary Gowland’s sincerity, strained tolerance for Ace’s antics, impatience with Queen Vivaldi’s demands, and distrust of Blood Dupre’s sway over Alice. He harbors particular animosity toward Elliot March, having imprisoned him for destroying a clock—an act Julius coldly upheld as duty demanded.

Across Wonderland’s timelines, his influence persists. In *Clover no Kuni no Alice*, he emerges as a rival in alternate routes. *Joker no Kuni no Alice* reunites him with Alice, sparking rivalry with Gray Ringmarc for her attention. *Diamond no Kuni no Alice* casts him as guardian to a younger Ace, stationed at a museum awaiting Jericho’s clock. A youthful iteration in *Diamond no Kuni no Alice~Wonderland MIRROR World~* retains his role while dispatching Ace to the Castle of Diamonds.

Secretive and reclusive, Julius avoids gatherings, buries himself in labor, and conceals unexpected talents like violin mastery. He shields Alice in dreams, wielding knowledge of her world that surpasses most Wonderland denizens, quietly anchoring her amidst chaos.
