Sister Elaine Colette is a French nun of Saint Cecilia Girls Academy. The institution publicly operates as an elite school for the gifted, yet its true, hidden purpose is to contain and seal away magical musical instruments to prevent their misuse, a secret known only to a few, including her.

She is the guardian of the academy's most dangerous artifacts: the devil violin, Canonne, and its angelic counterpart, Cecilia, for which the academy is named. As their protector, she was nevertheless unable to stop Akio Yashiro from succumbing to the corrupting influence of the Canonne violin, an event that transformed him into an instrument of evil.
