TV-Series
Description
Akari Amano, a high school student investigating forest rumors of a doll-like girl, becomes lost and encounters the vampire Sophie Twilight. Sophie rescues Akari, sparking an intense fascination in Akari with Sophie's doll-like appearance and vampire nature. This fascination drives Akari to visit Sophie's house daily, culminating in her moving in after Sophie accepts the cohabitation arrangement.

Physically, Akari is a teenage girl with short black hair reaching her chin, precise bangs, and two hair clips. She wears a standard Japanese sailor-style school uniform, black socks, and brown dress shoes.

Akari exhibits deep curiosity about supernatural beings like vampires, angels, and demons. She collects porcelain dolls and extends this interest to Sophie, viewing her as a living doll to cherish and care for. Akari displays persistent enthusiasm, initiating physical affection such as hugging, petting Sophie's hair, or expressing desires to comb it. She occasionally shows covertly perverse tendencies, attempting to photograph intimate vampire moments or reacting excitedly to blood-sucking scenarios. Her attachment includes romantic crush elements: fantasies about marrying Sophie, holding hands during fireworks, visiting date spots, and desiring eternal cohabitation.

Akari's relationship with Sophie defines her development. She frequently offers her blood to Sophie, who consistently declines. Akari’s presence disrupts Sophie’s reclusive existence, fostering social interactions and friendships. Akari maintains a close childhood bond with Hinata Natsuki but remains oblivious to Hinata’s romantic feelings. She interacts neutrally with classmates Sakuya Kurai and Yū Aoki. Her encounter with Ellie, another vampire and Sophie’s acquaintance, results in mutual acceptance despite initial tension. In a non-canon spin-off scenario, Akari separates from Sophie after Sophie’s exile due to her exposed vampire identity. Akari retains lingering feelings, but Sophie’s affections shift toward another character. Akari harbors no jealousy and continues treating supernatural beings like dolls, leading to conflicts with other entities.

Key events include Akari accompanying Sophie on daytime outings while shielding her from sunlight, facilitating meetings between Sophie and human friends, attending summer festivals and fireworks displays with Sophie, overcoming obstacles for joint summer activities, participating in group outings to Akihabara and hot springs, and caring for Sophie during minor crises like illness. These experiences reinforce her commitment to cohabitation and deepen her bond with Sophie.

Her name’s etymology reflects her character: "Akari" (灯) translates to "lamp" or "light," while "Amano" (天野) combines "heavenly/sky" (天) and "field/wilderness" (野).
