Kotobuki Fujiya, a fourteen-year-old junior high school student, develops a strong romantic attraction to Hodaka after spotting him through his clothing store window during a shopping trip with friends. This initial sighting leads her to regularly visit a nearby cafe, positioning herself to observe the twenty-six-year-old fashion designer and shop owner at work across the street.

Her first direct encounter with Hodaka occurs when limited seating forces him and his friends to join her cafe table. Anxious about their age gap, Kotobuki fabricates an identity, claiming to be a twenty-year-old university student. Prompted by his friends' playful question about which of them she would date, she unhesitatingly chooses Hodaka, prompting the group to jokingly anoint her as his girlfriend.

Subsequently, Kotobuki intensifies her visits to Hodaka’s store, occasionally assisting with shop tasks while persistently upholding her deception about her age and academic status as a junior high student.

The eventual exposure of her lies generates profound tension between them, compelling both to confront the challenges of their twelve-year age difference and Kotobuki’s ongoing school commitments.
