TV-Series
Description
Asmaa, an elderly woman residing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2050, acts as the primary narrator and storyteller for her three grandchildren: Maha, Rayan, and Sultan. Within their domestic setting, accompanied by their robotic cat Anis, she shares folktales drawn from the Arabian Peninsula and broader Arabic traditions. These stories serve as framed lessons, using historical trials and tribulations to help the children navigate modern dilemmas. Through these narratives, Asmaa explicitly aims to preserve the Arabic language and promote cultural continuity, emphasizing regional values, customs, and historical contexts. Her role remains consistently that of a cultural custodian and familial mentor, showing no significant personal development or backstory revelation. In the second season, she relocates with her family to the futuristic city of Neom, where she continues her storytelling function.
