Description
Chihiro Komiya is an 11-12-year-old Japanese elementary student with long, loose brown hair and olive eyes, frequently mistaken for a girl due to his appearance. Of average build, he bears a striking resemblance to his late mother, Chiyo Komiya. Orphaned after his mother's overwork-related death and his father's earlier passing, he moves in with his previously unknown maternal uncle, Madoka Takatori—a wealthy eccentric. Appalled by Madoka's garbage-filled mansion, Chihiro negotiates a housekeeping role for room, board, and a monthly allowance, wearing a frilly maid uniform crafted by Madoka.
Shaped by his mother's motto "Those who don't work don't eat," Chihiro is disciplined, mature, and a self-described neat freak. He excels at cleaning and cooking daily meals, clashing with Madoka's messy habits. Though initially apathetic toward his uncle, he grows to genuinely appreciate him. A straight-A student aspiring to be a hotel baron, his impoverished past made him independent and reluctant to voice desires, but he learns to rely on Madoka for emotional support.
Chihiro's closest friend is Yūji Hino, from a family of carpenters tending Madoka's garden, who stood by him after his mother's death. He interacts with classmates Yukito Amahara, Hiroshi Takei, and Yuu Nomura—the latter harboring romantic feelings. Within Madoka's household, he bonds with secretary Keiichirō Shinozaki and mentors messy heiress Miyako Ōtori in cooking and cleaning.
Over time, Chihiro evolves from restraining his desires to acknowledging dependence on his uncle while upholding his work ethic. His meticulousness extends to managing household finances and schedules, echoing his mother's influence. Conflicting sources cite his birthdate as January 19 or June 6. His favorite color is green, and his blood type is O.
