TV-Series
Description
Laius Perseus leads the Perseus community in Little Garden, inheriting leadership of a group famed for its historical integrity and for once hosting a legendary, widely recognized high-level Gift Game. He possesses multicolored black and yellow hair, blue eyes, and wears a red cloak over a yellow and black jacket adorned with thin white lines, brown pants, and long brown boots. His accessories include a black choker bearing a pendant of the former Demon King Algol and clip-on earrings. Media adaptations show variations: longer thigh-high boots, the absence of the Perseus symbol on his attire in spin-offs or light novels, and later depictions featuring a chain around his neck.
His personality blends arrogance, combat aggression, and overt perversion, immediately displayed through his attraction to Kuro Usagi. He staunchly believes in Perseus's superiority over other Gate 5 communities and dismisses women under his control as inferior. He once attempted to purchase Shiroyasha's maid and casually offered his second-in-command the leadership position, an offer refused due to his perceived strength.
In combat, Laius wields the enslaved and sealed celestial star spirit Algol—a former Demon King and one of Little Garden's "Three Great Problem Children"—contained within his necklace. He also commands the Gift to create and reshape weapons, employing tools like a golden sickle in the anime, a khopesh in light novel encounters, and a large scythe in spin-offs. His physical strength surpasses ordinary humans, enabling him to defeat numerous demigods and gods, specializing in close combat. His reputation includes intimidating other Demon Kings using Algol's power, notably the Medusa ability.
His story involves winning the legendary high-level Gift Game that bolstered Perseus's prestige. Later, he initiated a Gift Game against the No-Names community to acquire Kuro Usagi, stating he would eventually tire of her. This confrontation resulted in his decisive defeat, costing him his community's flag, his constellation in the sky, and Leticia Draculair. Following these losses, he reappeared as part of the Will O'Wisp community.
