Description
Morimura Yuki serves as concertmaster and first violinist for the Fujimi Civic Center's amateur orchestra. Born February 11th and standing 175 cm tall, his rural upbringing instilled a lasting complex about being seen as a "country bumpkin," despite lacking a regional accent. He has three older sisters. Professionally, he is a high school music teacher and a skilled violinist evidenced by his third-place finish in the Japan Music Competition. His personality blends conscientiousness, traditionalism, and neuroticism, manifesting as intense self-doubt about his musical abilities and stubbornness when challenged. He possesses domestic skills in cooking and household management.

For three years, Yuki harbors unspoken romantic feelings for flutist Kawashima Natsuko, intending to propose despite never dating her. This dynamic shifts with the arrival of new conductor Tounoin Kei. Yuki initially resents Kei's demanding leadership, fearing it will drive away amateur members, though he later acknowledges the orchestra's improvement. Witnessing Natsuko's attraction to Kei prompts Yuki to resign. Kei prevents this by confessing his feelings, leading to an assault where Kei rapes him. A female acquaintance later publicly dismisses the incident with "it's just a rape," compounding Yuki's distress. Fleeing the assault, Yuki falls on wet stairs and sustains injuries. Kei nurses him back to health, displaying remorse and devotion during his recovery.

Professionally, Yuki faces termination from his teaching job due to concerns about perceived homosexuality influencing students, an event occurring while he remains in denial about his own sexuality. This discrimination sparks his advocacy for queer individuals. Throughout his relationship with Kei, Yuki experiences "gayngst" reconciling his identity and gradually accepting mutual affection. His character arc shows development from insecurity towards increased assertiveness, particularly in defending others against prejudice, while retaining his core traits of responsibility and musical dedication. The tension between his traditional self-image and evolving identity remains unresolved throughout his journey.
