Later, aboard the hijacked vessel *Double Sea*, Rap uncovers a sophisticated bomb tied to the ship's altimeter, set to explode upon entering canal block 3. Using the ship's elevator system, he devises and executes a plan to bypass the bomb's trigger mechanism. While engaged in this sabotage, he encounters a doctor loyal to terrorist leader Nagashima, who mortally wounds him. Rap's sacrifice successfully thwarts the bomb detonation in block 3. This act safeguards approaching rescue patrol boats and proves pivotal to the mission's overall success.
