Description
Mikado Alicein leads the Alicein family and manages its business affairs as father to Mikuni and Misono Alicein. Raised as the family's sole heir, he received childhood tutelage from Hattori-sensei, frequently losing chess matches against him and often crying in frustration afterward.

After marrying, he welcomed his first son, Mikuni. Roughly 15-16 years before the main story, Mikado engaged in a secret affair with Mikuni's tutor, resulting in the birth of his illegitimate son, Misono. The tutor departed the mansion with Misono but maintained contact with Mikado via letters and photos. Though Mikado offered her a pocket watch, she returned it, deeming it too extravagant. Mikado cherished both sons equally and was gratified when Mikuni and Misono formed a positive bond. Mikuni, however, reacted coldly upon discovering the affair, expressing contempt for his father.

Mikado's wife uncovered the affair and, driven by jealousy and hatred towards Mikado, used her Servamp, Doubt Doubt, to kill the tutor. Overcome by remorse, she and Mikado resolved to raise Misono as their own. Seven years pre-story, Mikado's wife attempted to murder Misono. Mikuni intervened to protect his brother, leading to her death. Shocked by this event, Mikado learned Mikuni and Doubt Doubt had fled the mansion; Misono witnessed the incident.

To manage his trauma, Mikado suppressed memories of Mikuni's existence. He employed his Servamp, All of Love, to manipulate Misono's memories, preventing him from nearing the mansion's east wing where the death occurred, framing it as a burglary instead. Mikado became intensely overprotective of Misono, isolating him from external dangers. After Berkia injured Misono, Mikado confined him to the mansion, forbidding visitors and instructing staff to deny entry to Mahiru and others.

When Mahiru and allies infiltrated, Mikado accompanied them but grew agitated upon suspecting they harbored inappropriate feelings toward Misono. He stressed the family's non-interference policy and demanded they exclude Misono from the war against Tsubaki. Later, Misono challenged Mikado to chess, stipulating his freedom should he win. Mikado lost the match, acknowledging Misono's maturity. He granted Misono permission to leave and requested he ask Mikuni to return home.

Mikado is a tall man with long brown hair typically tied in a ponytail, who wears glasses and expensive suits. He exhibits deep familial care but extreme overprotectiveness toward Misono, driven by guilt and fear of further loss. He reacts with irrational anger to perceived threats to Misono's safety or hints of others "lusting" after him. Despite erasing Mikuni from his life, underlying concern for his eldest son remains. Mikado displays childish tendencies, especially during competitive situations like chess, and is frequently intimidated by his secretary, Mitsuki Usami, who ensures he attends appointments.

Further details note his consistent inability to defeat Hattori at chess, unlike Mikuni, and the meaning of his first name's kanji ("Emperor"). He does not appear in the Servamp anime series, debuting instead in the film "Alice in the Garden".
