Description
Beth O'Brien flew as a member of the "Flying Angels" stunt pilot trio, performing aerial acrobatics. During a routine show, three mysterious balls of light collided with their planes, destroying the aircraft but leaving Beth, Scott Masterson, and Chuck Gavin unharmed. This incident resulted in their indefinite suspension from flying.
After the crash, interstellar peacekeeping agent Walter Freeman revealed the lights were three warriors from the planet Altara in Nebula M78. These aliens merged with the pilots to capture escaped monsters from the destroyed planet Sorkin, with Beth becoming the human host for Ultrawoman Beth. Together, they formed the Ultra Force, operating from a hidden base within Mount Rushmore and utilizing advanced fighter jets.
Initially, Beth could only transform into Ultrawoman Beth involuntarily during life-threatening situations. This involuntary ability evolved, allowing her to transform at will through focused concentration, signified by a distinctive light appearing in her eyes. As Ultrawoman Beth, she became the first female Ultra warrior officially designated "Ultrawoman."
Her Ultra form stood 249 feet tall and weighed 54,000 tons. She possessed immense superhuman strength, exceptional durability, and flight capabilities reaching Mach 23. A key limitation was her energy constraint, which restricted her Ultra form to 3-5 minutes of activity. Her primary weapon was the "Ultra Spout," a powerful laser fired from her hands when positioned above water sources. She also demonstrated telepathic communication, enabling seamless coordination with teammates while in Ultra form. Among the trio, she was noted as the quickest and most agile combatant.
Beth retained her expert piloting skills post-merger. Her personality remained cool-headed. Outside of missions, she attended dance classes during her downtime. She contributed to team dynamics by naming the support robot "Andy," while Scott named "Ulysses" and "Samson."
After the Ultra Force defeated the Sorkin monsters, including the evolving threat King Myra, they remained on Earth to address future dangers. Beyond her initial appearance, Beth/Ultrawoman Beth appeared in the 2009 film *Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legend*, depicted as an ally against the forces of darkness.
