PDQ is Computer Robot 78, one of 100 robots serving the Earth Defense Army. Assigned as an analyzer to the Science Defense Squad (SDS) Far East branch, the robot delivers vital technical support. An identity crisis struck PDQ with the arrival of the newer Robot 101, making the robot perceive itself as obsolete. This prompted PDQ to flee the SDS base with a malfunctioning Badei unit in an apparent self-destructive bid. The intervention of the monster Compugon resolved the situation, restoring PDQ's confidence and purpose within the team.
When the Invader People attacked Earth, PDQ temporarily assumed piloting duties for SDS vehicles as key human members were incapacitated or unavailable. The robot later activated Ulook 2001, a miniature assistant discovered on the battleship Ultria, and worked alongside it. This partnership involved frequent operational disagreements due to overlapping functions. In a separate incident, PDQ's monkey mascot companion, Monchi, accidentally fused with a Heller Army Dostony A via an electron transmitter, creating Monchi-Dostony. The Heller Fleet separated them, suppressing the Dostony's consciousness and returning it to their Titan Base while Monchi escaped back to Earth.
PDQ participated in the SDS's unsanctioned mission against the Empire of Heller. During the raid on Heller City's main tower, PDQ freed captured SDS members from restraints, enabling their escape. The robot's status following the collapse of the Heller Empire remains undocumented.
