Description
Adi is a genetically modified teenager who was raised and manipulated by Hydra to believe the Avengers were villains. His genetic modifications granted him a technopathic ability called the Technical Act, allowing him to mentally control and manipulate any technology, including advanced systems like Iron Man’s Hulkbuster armor. After realizing Hydra’s true malevolence, he defected alongside fellow experiments Makoto and Chloe, leading to their rescue and eventual adoption into the Avengers as members of the Future Avengers, where he operates under the codename Codec.
Tormented by guilt over the actions he committed while working for Hydra, Adi struggled with self-doubt about his worthiness as a hero. Learning that Tony Stark had once been a weapons manufacturer intensified this inner conflict, but Stark’s insistence that past mistakes do not define one’s future helped solidify Adi’s redemptive journey. As the oldest and most mature member of the Future Avengers, he acts as the team’s tactical and intellectual core, often balancing Makoto’s impulsiveness with careful planning. He exhibits protective, sibling-like instincts toward both Makoto and Chloe.
Adi’s technopathy proves indispensable during missions, from countering threats like the Inventor’s pet-weaponization scheme to navigating the societal chaos caused by the Terrigen Mist crisis. He supports diplomatic efforts between the Avengers and the Inhuman royal family, maintains contact with teammates in the field, and investigates those exploiting the crisis. His journey centers on continuous atonement, leveraging his skills unequivocally for heroism. Beyond the series, Adi appears in the comic War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas #3. He has light brown skin, dark hair, and typically wears practical attire such as a white long-sleeve shirt.
