Driven by scientific ambition, he campaigns to reunite the globally dispersed cyborg team—now living civilian lives—convinced The Vortex could become a catastrophic weapon if seized by hostile forces.

An alien spacecraft delivers a distress call from Komadar's sole survivor, a boy named Saba, who reveals cosmic conqueror Zoa annihilated his world and kidnapped his father, Dr. Corbin, to extract knowledge of The Vortex. Dr. Cosmos seizes this crisis as proof of his theories, pressuring the cyborgs into action. His obsession with The Vortex's potential eclipses ethical judgment, rendering him vulnerable to manipulation.

Zoa's forces capture Dr. Cosmos and infant cyborg Ivan Whisky (001), valuing the scientist's expertise to harness The Vortex's power. In captivity, Dr. Cosmos reluctantly assists Zoa under coercion, enabling the villain's universal threat. This collaboration peaks during the cyborgs' climactic battle against Zoa within The Vortex. Cornered, Zoa attempts to trigger a cataclysmic overload. In a sudden reversal, Dr. Cosmos sacrifices himself to physically halt Zoa, perishing with the antagonist to stop the overload. Though eliminating the immediate peril, his act stems from possessive desire for the energy source rather than selflessness. This sacrifice concludes his character arc, resolving his role in enabling the conflict.
