Ryōtarō Sugiyama is the boss of protagonist Hisashi Seki at their Shinjuku auto parts company, where Seki works a standard nine-to-five shift. Despite Seki's evident disinterest and active attempts to avoid him, Sugiyama relentlessly pursues a romantic relationship. His fixation persists undeterred even after Seki becomes involved with his supernatural partner, Asami.

Driven by this obsession, Sugiyama stalks Seki beyond the workplace, trailing him to a bar and ultimately pursuing him into the parallel dimension that birthed Asami. This dimension manifests individuals' ideal partners. Within it, Sugiyama encounters his destined soulmate: a muscular, physically imposing version of Seki who genuinely returns his affections. Sugiyama instantly embraces this ideal partner, abandoning his pursuit of the original Seki without a second thought.

Unlike Seki and Asami's complicated reunion, Sugiyama achieves a straightforward and positive resolution. The narrative confirms he remains happily together with his ideal partner on Earth, facing no further conditions or challenges to their relationship.
