Ku Dorin is a childhood friend of Jinto Linn from their early education on Delktou. Both shared an interest in the game minchiu (minteau) and played together on a local team. When Jinto departed for the military academy at Lakfakalle, Dorin alone came to the spaceport to see him off, marking Jinto's otherwise solitary departure from his homeworld. Years later, during events unfolding in Jinto's home territory, the recently Abh-reclaimed Hyde star system, Dorin reconnects with Jinto. He informs Jinto about an upcoming military war game operation scheduled for the Hyde system. This encounter occurs while Jinto is engaged in diplomatic negotiations for the surrender of Martine, the system's capital planet, to the Abh Empire. Dorin's presence underscores Jinto's enduring ties to his origins, contrasting with his current role as an Abh noble.
