Fubuki is the hybrid child of a human male shinobi and a legendary female Yōma renowned for her immense power. Witnessing her parents' deaths as a child during a shinobi extermination mission targeting her mother left deep scars. Her father, part of the attacking force, perished using the forbidden Fuuma Kourin technique to seal her mother. Severely injured, Rasetsu—a Yōma servant loyal to her mother—rescued the orphaned Fubuki. Rasetsu entrusted her to the shinobi master Kurokage for care while recovering. Fubuki subsequently lived with Kurokage and his granddaughter Yumi, forging familial bonds despite harboring a deep-seated hatred for shinobi.
Her appearance features pale skin, long black hair usually in wavy twin tails accented by white flowers, and black eyes. She typically wears a tattered gray yukata, full-body bandages, and a large brown hooded coat. Transforming into her shinobi form reveals a revealing black kimono with gold accents, an ankle-length loincloth, and small white flowers on her neck and chest; she wields a feathered fan. Her Yōma Mode manifests red facial tattoos reminiscent of Kabuki makeup, pointed ears, and slicked-back, elongated black hair, though her clothing remains consistent.
Fubuki projects a cold, distant exterior, masking intense hatred for shinobi and a consuming desire for vengeance rooted in her parents' deaths. This drives her ambition to eradicate all shinobi, leading her to manipulate allies like the shinobi twins Senkō and Gekkō. Despite this vengefulness, she demonstrates loyalty and care, particularly towards Rasetsu, whom she considers family. Moments of vulnerability and loneliness surface beneath her hostility, hinting at a deeper longing for companionship, echoing her childhood bonds with Kurokage and Yumi.
Key relationships define her journey: her adversarial connection with Yumi evolved into rivalry and later reconciliation after a decisive battle. Her bond with adoptive grandfather Kurokage was complex; she kept his small sword-and-shield pin as a memento despite their separation. Rasetsu remained her most trusted companion, embodying her Yōma heritage. Senkō and Gekkō, initially followers of Kurokage's ideals, maintained loyalty to Fubuki even after her betrayal.

Defeat prompts a shift in perspective; she abandons her vendetta, resolving her internal conflict between vengeance and her latent desire for familial bonds, and allies with the protagonists.
