Description
Born Vlad Dracula III, this 15th-century Transylvanian ruler defended his lands through ruthless tactics like impaling invaders, earning the moniker Vlad the Impaler. He later felt remorse, believing these acts corrupted his soul. Slain in battle against overwhelming odds in 1462, Satan resurrected him as a vampire. This dark bargain traded mortality for unholy powers and eternal bloodlust, granting immortality, shapeshifting into bat or smoke form, superhuman strength, weather manipulation, vulnerability to sunlight, repulsion by religious symbols like crosses and holy water, and a dependence on human blood.

For centuries, he preyed upon humanity, turning victims like Mallisa and Layla into vampires, while his homeland decayed into desolation. He faced relentless pursuit from vampire hunters, including Jonathan Harker and Abraham Van Helsing, whom he killed after they attempted to stake him in his coffin. As persecution intensified across Europe, he sought refuge in Boston, targeting populations he deemed less spiritually vigilant.

In modern Boston, he intervened in a Satanic ritual, stealing Dolores, the intended bride for Satan. Dracula developed genuine affection for her, choosing not to transform her into a vampire. They married, and she bore him a son, Janus, whose birth on Christmas Eve held symbolic weight. During this time, Dracula attempted a mortal existence, engaging in mundane activities like dining out and consuming human food such as hamburgers, though this failed to quell his vampiric nature. His domestic peace was complicated by his estranged vampire-hunting descendant, Frank Drake, who allied with Hans Harker (Jonathan Harker's son) and Rachel Van Helsing.

Enraged by Dolores's theft, Satan orchestrated vengeance. Satanists murdered the infant Janus, and Satan stripped Dracula of his vampiric powers, reducing him to mortality. This devastating loss ignited Dracula's quest for revenge. To reclaim his powers, he needed the blood of another vampire, driving him to seek out his own progeny. His pursuit culminated in a confrontation intertwining his personal vendetta against the Satanists with renewed battles against his vampire hunter foes.
