Description
Kranz is a genetically modified human created by Dr. Aris for the clandestine organization, the Union. He commands DA-5, a special forces unit engineered for critical missions. The other DA-5 members were designed as vessels for Kranz to absorb, enabling him to drain their abilities and significantly amplify his combat power. This absorption triggers physical transformations, causing his muscles to expand and blades to manifest on his arms.
He possesses a stern countenance marked by two prominent facial scars: one on his cheek and another crossing his nose. Numerous additional scars cover his body, becoming visible when his clothing tears. Kranz has a large, muscular frame that swells further during transformation. He typically avoids engaging weaker opponents, observing from the sidelines unless forced to intervene.
His personality is cold, cruel, and relentlessly mission-focused, willing to employ extreme measures for success. Kranz displays arrogance about his strength, declaring DA-5 exists solely for him, though he harbored deep-seated fear towards his creator, Dr. Aris. While generally composed, he loses control when injured or challenged, as occurred during his confrontation with Regis. He expresses disdain for lower-ranking experiments and manipulates events to his advantage, such as covertly permitting Shark to eliminate individuals linked to teammate Takeo while simultaneously restraining Shark's violence to maintain command.
As DA-5's strongest combatant, Kranz fights unarmed, relying on exceptional speed and physical prowess. Tao asserts the entire team combined cannot defeat him. He effortlessly overpowered Regis, blocking every attack and sustaining only torn clothing despite Regis's full assault. After Raizel subdued DA-5 with mental control, Kranz utilized the drug 'D' to break free. Recognizing his inability to defeat Raizel alone, he drained Shark's power and attempted to absorb Tao. This was interrupted by Ik-Han pleading with Raizel to save Tao, resulting in Tao binding Kranz with electrically charged cords. Raizel then immobilized Kranz with a command and annihilated him using the Blood Field technique.
Kranz does not appear in any official spin-offs, movies, or OVAs, including "Noblesse: Rai’s Adventure," "Noblesse S," the "Beginning of Destruction" OVA, or the "Awakening" OVA. His role is confined to the main narrative of the webtoon and its anime adaptation.
