Description
Emi Iwata studies at Ye Ran High School, a specialized institution founded to support a pivotal individual’s assimilation into contemporary society. She runs with a tight-knit circle of classmates—including Shinwoo and Ik-Han—who ally themselves with this central figure. Emi personifies mundane human existence, frequently depicted engaging in relaxed camaraderie with peers.

Her story arc intensifies when she becomes entangled in dangerous plots orchestrated by a shadowy syndicate, leading to her capture by genetically enhanced operatives M-21 and M-24. These incidents precede M-21’s eventual defection to the protagonists’ side and M-24’s fatal demise. Post-abduction, her role recedes to sporadic appearances in flashbacks or recollections.

A spin-off sideline hints at unresolved romantic tension between her and M-21, though this thread remains unexplored in primary narratives. Emi’s background remains deliberately undefined, devoid of concrete details regarding familial ties, ambitions, or past experiences. She shares an inseparable bond with fellow student Suyi, their friendship cementing their status as grounded, non-maganical counterparts within their eclectic cohort.

While her exchanges with core characters sometimes underscore ethical perspectives, Emi operates primarily as a fixed emblem of routine humanity, her narrative trajectory avoiding substantial evolution to preserve her symbolic contrast against encroaching supernatural upheavals.
