Clocker is a young Autobot from Velocitron, the Speed Planet, who transforms into a Cybertronian open-topped race car resembling a modified Ferrari F355. His primary function is as a speed planet warrior and dedicated racer.
On Velocitron, Clocker serves as protégé and caretaker to the ancient mechanoid Brakedown. His life is deeply intertwined with the planet's racing culture, and he possesses extensive knowledge of its roads and traditions. Clocker first allied with the Autobots when he and Brakedown were threatened by the Decepticons Ransack and Crumplezone, who sought information about the Cyber Planet Key. The Autobot Hot Shot intervened to save them, earning Clocker's lasting gratitude and admiration.
Clocker developed an idolizing bond with Hot Shot, often assisting him in race preparations and providing emotional support. He defended Hot Shot from criticism by other Autobots and played a crucial role in his recovery after a physical and emotional collapse. During the Planet Cup race, Clocker competed initially and later served on Hot Shot's pit crew, providing critical updates that contributed to Hot Shot's victory.
He utilized his Cyber Key Power during a race to blast open a wall and save an out-of-control Hot Shot from a crash. Though he participated in the Planet Cup's initial heats, Clocker was eliminated after falling for a deceptive direction change by Ransack and later stopping to help clear rubble from a tunnel collapse.
Following the Autobots' departure from Velocitron, Clocker remained on his home planet with Brakedown. He witnessed the sky light up with energy when Starscream activated the Omega Lock on Earth. Later, he and Brakedown discovered Velocitron's ancestral colony ship, the Ogygia, which was used to travel to Gigantion. Alongside other Velocitronians, he observed the growing black hole through a space bridge and helped maintain planetary thrusters to keep Jungle Planet in its proper orbit after the black hole's destruction.
In the subsequent Speedia 500 race to determine Velocitron's new leader, Clocker finished in sixth place. The race was won by Hot Shot, who became the planet's new leader. Clocker remained on Velocitron with Hot Shot while Brakedown and the former leader Override joined the Space Bridge project.
Beyond the main animated series, the character appeared in other media. In the *Legends* comic, Clocker was a member of the dimension-hopping Skids Squadron, summoned to the Legends World to fight against Megatron and his forces. A separate version of the character exists in the live-action movie continuity, distinct from the Velocitronian Clocker.
According to his Cyber Key Code profile, Clocker employs a dangerous racing tactic involving an energon-overdrive button in sixth gear, which often sends him flying into first place but also off the road, as the maneuver is not yet perfected.
Official statistics rate his abilities with high scores in endurance (9) and skill (8.5), and lower scores in strength (4) and firepower (4).
