Description
Lamina arrived as an extraterrestrial agent from Halley's Comet during its 1910 Earth approach, tasked with annihilating humanity due to their violence. Witnessing Earth's beauty changed her, leading to refusal of the destruction command. Defiance forced her into prolonged concealment within a ruined Vietnamese jungle temple.

Seventy-six years later, during the Vietnam War, she encountered Robert Marita, a wounded U.S. Army lieutenant separated from his unit after an ambush. She granted him sanctuary, healing his injuries with a unique green powder possessing regenerative properties that also accelerated jungle regrowth. A significant bond formed, but circumstances forced separation when Viet Cong forces neared; Robert deliberately led them away to protect Lamina, sustaining further injuries. Lamina then entered an extended dormancy within the temple.

Decades later, Robert's son, Subaru Marita, rediscovered her; she showed no physical aging since the war. Her emergence followed Subaru playing Robert's harmonica, indicating a sensory or emotional trigger. Initial telepathic attempts to convey her history and Halley's Comet connection to Subaru only imparted fragmented information, revealing the comet's ancient role seeding Earth life via the green powder. She agreed to accompany Subaru to Japan.

Scientific examination in Japan confirmed her non-human biology and the powder's extraordinary nature, identifying it as the primordial source of terrestrial life billions of years earlier. Her presence drew pursuit from Zamba, a subsequent Halley's Comet agent sent in 1985 with dual objectives: eliminating Lamina as a traitor and completing the original planetary annihilation mission. Confronted by Zamba, Lamina retreated with Subaru and his reconciled girlfriend, Yumi, to a remote mountain location.

The final confrontation forced Lamina to abandon her human guise, revealing her true, powerful form as a demi-goddess servant connected to Venus. She engaged Zamba directly in a climactic battle, ultimately prevailing to protect Earth. Her ultimate fate following this victory and whether she successfully appealed to the universe's creator, Elorian, regarding humanity's worth remains part of the narrative.
