Joujo is one of three high school students from Lunar Ferris Academy on the Moon, the daughter of a prominent aerospace company's CEO. Her family's status places her within Earth's social elite. During a journey to Earth for a chorus competition, a system-wide failure of the supercomputer Eterna disabled registered spacecraft, stranding Joujo and her companions. The unregistered smuggler ship Iron Goblin, captained by Seitarou Yaoi, rescued them.

Initially, Joujo displays less vocal expressiveness and receives less individual narrative focus compared to others in her group, often acting within the trio's collective efforts. Across the OVA episodes, her involvement in events increases, particularly in the group's mission to reach Earth and combat Eterna's robotic uprising. This uprising forcibly relocated humans to primitive conditions at the equator, a crisis linked to Joujo's companion Meifa, whose father designed Eterna.

Aboard the Iron Goblin, Joujo participates in the crew's activities, contributing to the shared goal of stopping Eterna. Her interactions and relationships with both her companions and the ship's crew develop, leading to a more integrated presence within the ensemble by the series' conclusion.
