OVA
Description
Ryuuichi Kaizu, a high school senior from a provincial town, is consumed by relentless ambition to abandon his rural roots and ascend within Tokyo’s elite. His outwardly unremarkable family—parents and a younger sister—lacks overt dysfunction, yet his father acknowledges his innate ruthlessness, privately labeling him a “bad seed” devoid of empathy.

Ryuuichi strategically manipulates and exploits women to secure social and financial advancement. He first targets Sayoko, a local hostess, then Emi Naito, a privileged classmate. After seducing Emi, he engineers confrontations with her family to extort funds before discarding her once her utility wanes. In Tokyo, he repeats this pattern with Hisayo Sumibishi, a wealthy university student, treating all relationships as transactional alliances.

His tactics blend emotional manipulation, blackmail, and physical coercion. When challenged by Kirioka, a rival for Emi’s affections, Ryuuichi orchestrates academic sabotage and crushes him in a brutal fight. A former lover’s suicide attempt following his rejection elicits no guilt; he views people solely as instruments for his ambitions.

The story forgoes moral reckoning or redemption arcs. Though the original manga spans six volumes, the OVA adapts a fragmentary segment, omitting his ultimate fate. His origins remain unexplored, with psychological motivations reduced to inherent narcissism and ambition. Estranged from his parents, he maintains minimal contact with his sister, who uses his given name instead of familial honorifics, underscoring their fractured bond.
