OVA
Description
Yayoi Shiina, vice-president of the student council and the protagonist’s classmate in the 1987 OVA *Gakuen Tokusō Hikaruon*, takes a defiant stand against the systemic bullying and institutional corruption plaguing her school. She directly challenges the Jakoku-kai, a student gang led by Kyosuke Gomi, whose intimidation tactics and control over peers perpetuate fear. When the protagonist investigates a cluster of mysterious student suicides, Yayoi shares crucial knowledge of the school’s hidden hierarchies, exposing how the Jakoku-kai weaponizes coercion and violence.

Beyond offering guidance, she physically shields the protagonist from Gomi’s harassment, cementing her active resistance to the school’s oppressive structures. A tense encounter with antagonistic forces briefly unveils her vulnerability as she faces mortal danger, though the OVA’s abbreviated format leaves her fate in this ordeal unresolved. Her survival by the story’s end hints at quiet resilience.

The narrative intertwines the school’s brutality—gang exploitation, societal disparities—with Uraer, an extradimensional entity feeding on human despair. Though Yayoi’s past and personal drives remain unexplored, her choices consistently prioritize safeguarding classmates from tangible threats and the encroaching supernatural malice. No supplementary material expands her role or history beyond this self-contained story.
