Description
Phonsekal Laure, a Regular from the Eurasia Family's Phonsekal lineage, inherits exceptional talent in shinsu control and a deep affinity for sleep. He appears as a human male with dark green hair and green eyes, typically clad in a blue jacket and gray pants. Ever-present blankets and pillows facilitate his near-constant drowsiness; he avoids walking, preferring shinsu levitation for movement.

Introduced on the Second Floor, Laure formed a temporary team with Ho and Serena Rinnen. He demonstrated casual competence early on, effortlessly bypassing a barrier and impatiently choosing a door at random during the Door Test. Seemingly asleep during the Crown Game, he executed a premeditated strategy with his team, launching potent shinsu blasts at throne occupants. Confronting Anak after she ignited the Green April awakened a latent competitiveness; he insisted on continuing the fight despite widespread destruction, requiring physical restraint from teammates.

Seeded first among Wave Controllers in Position Tests, Laure displayed initial apathy toward instruction. This shifted when Baam retrieved his lost pillow, prompting him to tutor Baam in shinsu fundamentals. During the Hide-and-Seek Test, he alternated between sleeping—using signs to demand silence—and strategic contributions. Directed by Khun Aguero Agnis, he blasted the Ranker Quant to intercept Anak, a tactical sacrifice causing his team's loss but advancing Khun's plan. Later, in the Submerged Fish Test, allies coerced his participation by threatening his pillows; he manipulated creatures with targeted shinsu waves before resuming sleep, interrupted by Wolhaiksong Rankers.

Traveling with Ship Leesoo's team in Part 2, Laure remained lethargic, often carried like luggage. He still assisted combat, firing shinsu through walls to distract foes. Summoned for the Development Tournament, Rak Wraithraiser forcibly awakened him by biting. Laure then detected a parasitic "Medina" concealed within Beta by reading aberrant shinsu flow, expelled it using precise manipulation, and reluctantly joined the battle. His techniques included defensive shields and severing one of Beta's limbs with the Eurasia-style "Cry of Piercing Water".

Subsequent arcs featured minimal active involvement. Aboard the Hell Train, he complained about noise. At the Name Hunt Station, he expressed fatigue but undertook no significant actions. He was later seen bound to Hatsu's back during Leesoo's team movements.

Laure's shinsu prowess defines him. Renowned as the most efficient shinsu manager among contemporary Regulars, his versatile applications include reading internal shinsu flow to detect entities, levitating himself and others hundreds of meters, concentrating shinsu into explosive waves for offense or tunneling, and deploying defensive barriers. His conventional Wave Controller style emphasizes adaptability over brute force. His flight capability, a rarity for Regulars, highlights technical mastery attributed to his Phonsekal heritage.

His personality centers on lethargy and minimalist engagement. He pursues sleep opportunistically, responding irritably to disturbances yet fulfilling obligations when necessary—often under duress like threats to possessions. Despite apparent indolence, he exhibits strategic foresight. A dormant competitive streak surfaces against opponents like Anak or Beta. His interest in Baam stems from recognizing exceptional talent.

Relationships are pragmatic. Leesoo's team adapts to his lethargy, transporting him physically. Interactions with Baam involve mutual shinsu respect. Rak's abrasive methods override his inertia. His family lineage explains his affinity for sleep and shinsu proficiency.
